Video: History of Ferrari prancing horse

The black prancing horse on a yellow background has a detailed and a fascinating story that Enzo Ferrari told only once. The horse was painted on the fuselarge of the fighter plane of Francesco Baracca, a heroic airman of the First World War. At 23 Enzo met Countenrico Baracca, Francesco Baracca’s father and his mother Countes Paulina who said to Enzo one day, “Ferrari put my son’s prancing horse on your cars, it will bring you good luck”. The horse was and still is back and Enzo added the Canary Yellow background which is the colour of Modena. In 1932 the Ferrari shield first appeared on the Alfa Romeo cars of the Scuderia racing team in the grand prix of SPA. In 1947 the 125S, first car produced at the Maranello, the pracing horse appeared on the yellow background and always with the Italian flag at the top. Now the shield is replaced by a rectangle with S and F instead of Ferrari. Thus the Ferrari brand was born.
