Tata Nano goes for a charity ride

     Tata Motors donated 6 Nanos to Smil Train which is the world’s largest cleft charity organization. The keys of the Nanos were given by non other than Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Sons to the charity organization.

     Smile Train provides free treatment to any child in need who has problem of clefts which can be corrected by simple procedures. The organization will use the Nanos to display dramatic before and after pictures of children who have been helped spreading a simple and clear message that clefts are easily correctable.

Its ‘The End’ for 12 cars after Bharat Stage IV

     The Bharat Stage IV emission norms which came into effect from 1st April this year has brought an end to 12 cars in India. The 12 cars which is listed below is being phased out from 13 major cities of India.

Skoda to launch Yeti in India by June this year

      Czec Republic auto company and Volkswagen subsidiary Skoda auto is all set to launch its mini SUV Yeti in India by June this year. Yeti is expected to be priced between Rs 12 to 14 lakh.

     Yeti was displayed at the Auto Expo 2010 where it attracted huge amount of spectators. Thought the details of Yeti has not be released officially expect it to come with next generation features such as multiple airbags, ABS (Antilock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution).

Nissan’s small car might get a new plant

     Nissan’s small car which will be price at around Rs 2.5 lakh might get a new plant outside Chennai. Currently Nissan is manufacturing ‘Micra’ at its Orgadam plant in Chennai which will be launched in June this year.




     Nissan along with its partner Renault is in JV with 3 companies in India namely Bajaj, Mahindra and Ashok Leyland. Nissan is looking forward to one more JV for the small car which will be in between ULC car ( Ultra Low Cost car manufactured in association with Bajaj Auto) and Micra. The possible companies for the small car JV are under consideration.


     Nissan’s Chennai plant has a capacity to reach 4 million vechicles by 2014. The Chennai plant will be utilized to manufacture Micra, a new sedan to be launched in 2011 and an all new multi purpose vehicle.
