Toyota Corolla Altis Diesel launched in India
Toyota has launched Corolla Altis Diesel in India priced between Rs 10.95 to 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The car was launched in the ceremony at New Delhi.
The Altis Diesel is powered by a 1.4 Liter D-4D common rail diesel engine which generated 88.4 PS of max power and 205 Nm of max torque supported by a 6 speed manual transmission. Toyota claims Altis Diesel will return a mileage of 21.43 Kmpl as certified by ARAI.
Apart from minor grill changes, there is not much change in the design compared to the petrol sibling but Toyota claims it has tweaked a little in the design aspect to make the car more aerodynamic. The car will be available in seven colours.
Fiat Grande Punto 90HP launched in India
Fiat India has launched a more powerful Grande Punto powered by a powerful 1.3L multijet diesel engine producing 90 bhp as compared to 75 bhp by the regular diesel version.
The engine uses variable geometry turbo, which makes the engine to breathe easier and produce more power. It will be available in only Emotion trim and will be sold along side 75 bhp variant.
The car is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi) and will compete with Hyundai i20 in terms of both power and price. The customers have various accessory packages to choose from which include rear spoiler, chrome exhaust, body decals, aluminum pedals and leather seat covers.
