Mercedes Benz A Class coming to India

     German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz is planning to launch its small hatchback A Class in India in near future. Mercedes Benz has been closely following the Indian market for quiet a long time and since the demand for expensive small hatch in India is remote, A Class could not find its place here earlier. But things has been changing over years in India and Mercedes does think so.



     Rivals, Audi and BMW are also thinking of launching their super mini cars A1 and Mini respectively. Now with the luxury segment getting hot, Mercedes surely want to dominate among its competitors.

     The A Class is expected to be priced between Rs 16 to 20 lakh in India.

Next Generation Renault Clio heading for India

     Renault is eying to launch the next generation of its highly popular Clio in India by late 2011. The Clio is based on the same Nissan ‘V’ platform and will be manufactured at Renault-Nissan’s Chennai plant.

Mahindra Xylo 4x4 spied

Mahindra Xylo All Wheel Drive was spied at Mahindra Great Escape event that concluded recently in Khimsar, Rajasthan. The vehicle is undergoing final testing and will soon launched in the Indian Market. Xylo will be the first MPV with 4x4 drive to be launched in India .


The Xylo 4x4 uses an advanced version of the Borg & Warner system. The 4wd system finds ways to provide maximum road grip and stability rather than off-roading traits.

Renault Logan Compact Sedan spied in India

     The Logan might not have been selling in good numbers, but soon it will have its younger brother on the roads. A Compact Sedan version of the Logan has been spotted testing in India.


     We saw first by the Tata Motors launching a CS version of its sedan Indigo and succeeding in selling good numbers of Indigo CS as well. Mahinda Renault is looking for this segment to boost its sales. With less than 4 meters in lenght the CS version of Logan could enjoy the small car tax benifits. Expect Logan CS to be priced around Rs 5 lakhs.



General Motors to slowly phase out Aveo in India

     General Motors India is planning to slowly phase out its mid size family car Chevrolet Aveo which will be replaced by a new model. The new model will be T type car of the Chevrolet’s 300 series platform.


     Chevrolet has confirmed that the existing Aveo will not receive any upgrades. Chevrolet recently launched a CNG variant of Aveo at the Auto Expo 2010.

Force Motors to launch a SUV in India

     With global as well as local auto makers focusing on launching new SUVs in Inida, home grown auto manufacturer Force Motors also wants to share the party. Force Motors which was earlier known as Bajaj Tempo Ltd which manufacturers rugged and tough vehicles such as Tempo Traveller and Tempo Trax wants to launch an all new SUV for India. The new SUV from Force Motors is expected to hit the roads by 2011.


     Bajaj Tempo Ltd in collaboration with Mercedes Benz for engines has manufactured people movers Trax and Traveller which has been very popular in rural India.

Big discount offered on Mahindra Renault Logan

     When most of the auto makers in India are increasing the prices of their models, dealers of Mahindra Renault is offering Rs 50,000 discount on Logan. The discount is offered on both diesel and petrol variants and is valid till the end of this month.
