Audi gifts Yuvi with a Q5 SUV

     Audi India has gifted a Q5 SUV to Man of the ICC World Cup 2011 - Yuvraj Singh. Ravi Shastri and Audi India chief presented to the keys of the Q5 SUV to the flamboyant prince.

     Audi Chief Micheal congratulated Yuvraj on being delcaed the Man of the Tournament at the World Cup 2011 and appreciated his performance. The ecstatic Yuvraj on receiving the keys of the Q5 said “It is after 28 years India brings the World Cup home. It is an honour to be chosen and felicitated by Audi as they continue their tradition”.




     Audi had earlier presented an Audi 100 sedan to Ravi Shastri in 1985 for his 6 sixers in an over.

Cooper Corporation to launch LCV in India

     Pune based engine and component supplier Cooper Corporation is planning to launch an indigenously developed light commercial truck in India next year to rival the market leader ‘Tata Ace’. The company is spending Rs. 130-140 Crores in the development of the LCV which is primarily aimed at rural and semi urban markets.

     The LCV will have payload capacity from 0.5-1.5 tonne. It will be powered by an in house diesel engine developed in association with Ricardo of the UK. However, the vehicle design and engineering will be outsourced.

     The LCV will come with 6 variants with a passenger variant being one of them. Powering the LCV will be 1.5 liter naturally aspirated twin cylinder diesel engine with 55 Bhp of power. 

     The manufacturing plant will be set up at Satara, Maharashtra and will have initial capacity of 20,000 units per annum. The vehicle will be priced between Rs. 2.5-3.5 lakh.

Maruti planning to open its 7th plant in India

     India’s largest selling automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is planning to open a new plant in India apart from two new upcoming plants in Manesar. The company aims to sell 30 lakh units every year by 2015-16.

     The internal discussion to set up the 7th plant has already taken place and the final decision is likely to be taken in a year. The new units coming at Manesar has a total investment of Rs. 3,625 Crore. The existing plant at Manesar has capacity of 3.5 lakh units and three units in Gurgaon have combined capacity of 8.5 lakh units annually.

Aston Martin launches its cars in India

     British iconic luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has launched its entire range of cars in India with prices ranging from Rs. 1.35 to 20 Crores. Aston Martin follows other sports car manufactures Ferrari, Maserati, Bugatti and Lamborghini who launched their sports cars just few days ago.




     Aston Martin sees huge potential in India with growing number of Richie Richs in the country. Aston Martin’s full range of cars includes V8 Vantage Coupe, Rapide, DBS, DB9 and limited edition One-77. The limited edition One-77 which will be manufactured of only 77 units is priced at a whooping Rs. 20 Crore.


     Infinity cars will be the official importer of Aston Martin cars in India. India is the 42nd country in which Aston Martin cars are sold and the company has over 134 dealers worldwide.

TVS StaR motorcycle crosses 3 million sales mark

     TVS Motor Company has announced that it has crossed the 3 million mark in the sales of its StaR brand of motorcycles. The company stated, StaR brand has evolved over the years and is the most sought vehicle in the economy segment.


     TVS Motor Company had launched StaR motorcycle in 2004 with a first of its kind 5 year warranty, signifying the quality assurance from the company. Soon an electric start option was introduced as a standard fitment which was again a first of its kind.
