Renault Pulse unveiled in India, looks very similar to Micra

Renault today unveiled its small car for India named ‘Pulse’. The Renault Pulse looks very similar to Nissan Micra, and why not both Pulse and Micra has been built on the same Renault-Nissan JV developed V-platform.

However we expected to see some change in the body panels between Micra and Pulse. What we see is the Pulse has just some changes to the front and rear bumper will some modifications to the headlamps. The interiors of Pulse seem to be borrowed directly from the Micra.

Having built a new car very similar to an already existing car on Indian roads, it is very interesting to see how Renault prices its Pulse.

Stay tuned for more details of Renault Pulse….

Renault small car for India is Pulse, unveil on 29th October

Renault’s much awaited small car for India will be 'Pulse' (codename B58). In our earlier post we had mentioned that the Renault’s mall car for India will be ‘Modus’ as Renault Modus was spied testing in India. But the small car from Renault for India will be an entirely new car based on Renault-Nissan V (versatile) platform. Renault’s global partner Nissan has also built a small car ‘Micra’ on this V platform. So expect to see lot of component sharing between Nissan Micra and Renault Pulse.

Since there is sharing of platform, the Renault Pulse will also be powered by the same petrol and diesel engine from Micra. The 1.2L 3 cylinder petrol engine produces Ps while the 1.5L diesel motors produces 63 Ps. To differentiate from Micra, Renault will give a brand new styling to the Pulse which is expected to have the French essence. The odd shaped grill with Renault’s diamond logo will be the highlight of the car. Interiors and some mechanical switches are likely to be borrowed from Micra.

The Renault Pulse will be unveiled at the beginning of Indian Grand Prix at Buddh International Circuit. Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn will be present at the unveiling of the car and beginning of Indian Grand Prix to show the company’s solidarity towards India’s first Formula 1 race. However the car will be commercially launched at the Auto Expo 2012 in January 2012.

Maruti Suzuki's new MPV (R3/Ertiga) will be launched in Japan before India

Of late we have been seeing car manufacturer’s developing country specific vehicles especially for India and developing countries. To name a few Toyota Etios, Hyundai Eon and Honda Brio as the best examples.

Maruti Suzuki had showed an MPV condemned R3 which was developed specially for India. We have showed you many spy pictures as well as some clear pictures of Maruti’s R3 MPV which will officially be called Ertiga. Now according to latest new, the Ertiga or R3 MPV will be first launched in Japan before its India debut.

The R3/Ertiga MPV is based on extended Ritz platform which seats 7 persons. Powering the MPV will a new 1.4L petrol engine and a 1.3L DDiS turbo diesel. The R3/Ertiga is a potential MPV to take on the market leader Toyota Innova. Expected to be priced around Rs. 7-8 lakh it will surely create a new segment and who know might dominate it for a long time as well. We are waiting for it Maruti! Of course we will not see it in India before the January Auto Expo 2012.

The next generation Mitsubishi EVO will be a hybrid!

Mitsubishi EVO being a sedan is not just an everyday car. It is the car with full of adrenaline, and no doubt has won many cross-country rallies. It is one of the powerful four wheel drive saloons in the world and is known for its lighting speed and nimble reflexes.

The next generation EVO series will have a hybrid technology powering it. The car will feature a diesel-electric hybrid technology and is likely to make the world debut in 2014.

Mitsubishi will find it hard to keep up the reputation of EVO with a hybrid powertrain. The company has already started developing the powertrain which will basically consist of a diesel engine coupled to an electric motor. Having to keep the same zeal, we guess Mitsubishi have to fit in a powerful diesel engine with a high kilowatt motor in the EVO hybrid. The way automotive world is heading in terms of technology and innovation, the Mitsubishi EVO is the latest one.

Bajaj Auto to unveil new Pulsar in December 2012

The Pulsar is the house hold name in India and it is the bike which changed the fortunes of Bajaj Auto Ltd. When launch the Pulsar caught lot of attention by youth with its muscular design and powerful engine. Finally Bajaj Auto is attempting to rival the Japanese in terms of power and performance in a segment which it once dominated.

Land Rover to make current Defender till 2017

Land Rover recently showed two concepts of the next generation Defender named DC100 at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the sources the next generation Defender will make its appearance on the road in next 4 years. Having said this Land Rover has maintained that the current Defender which dates back to the original Land Rover series launched in 1948 will not be discontinued any time soon. The current Defender will be made and sold till 2017 or perhaps more than that.

The Land Rover Defender is an iconic SUV which changed the world of offroading. The Defender has been a major part of the British army and even today the Defender is supposed to be one of the best offroading vehicle.

Souces from Land Rover has said that there are number of changes to the legislation, which means that the current Defender can be keep under production for longer time. The current Defender might not meet the EU6 emission norms in the future, but Land Rover has an option to fit the Defender with company’s 2.2L turbodiesel currently powering the latest generation Land Rovers.
