Mercedes Benz E Class Special Edition launched in India

     Mercedes Benz has launched a Special Edition of its E Class sedan in India to commemorate 125 years of the company. The Special Edition E Class gets Vario bag, Rear entertainment system and Illuminated door sill panel as extra features.


     Only 125 of these Special Edition E Class will be made and available on The E Class E200 CGI BlueEFFECIENY AND e250 CDI BlueEFFECIENCY. The Specail Edition E Class is priced at Rs. 39,70,000/- for E200 CGI and Rs. 41,55,639/- for E250 CGI.

Mercedes Benz launches G Wagon(G55 AMG) in India

     German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz has launched G Wagon cross country vehicle in India priced at Rs. Rs 1.1 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). The G Wagon will be imported a CBU (Completely Built Unit). The G represents Geländewagen which in German refers to Cross Country Vehicle. The version launched in India is the AMG tuned G55.

     The G55 is powered by a 5.5-litre petrol V8 eninge developing 507 Bhp @ 6100 rpm & 71.4 kgm of torque @ 2750 rpm. The G55 weight over 2.5 tonnes and does 0-100 is just 5.5 seconds. The G55 is loaded with technology such as permanent all-wheel drive with three locking differentials, a 5-speed automatic transmission, ESP and electronic traction control system and high performance 350mm front and 330mm rear ventilated disc brakes.

Mercedes Aesthetics 125 sculpture unveiled in Stutgart

     Few days ago we had mentioned about the Aesthetics 125 sculpture by Mercedes. Mercedes has unveiled the Aesthetics 124 sculpture at Stutgart commemorating its completion of 125 years since Karl Benz applied for patenting the first automobile. The sculpture looks very futuristic previewing the company's design language for tomorrow.





     Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG says, "The invention of Daimler and Benz has changed the world for the better - and it will continue to do so. History shows that when a society becomes physically mobile it also becomes socially mobile and economically successful." He continued, "As the inventor of the automobile, Daimler strives to be at the forefront of shaping future mobility."

Mercedes Benz Aesthetics No. 2 Sculpture at Detroit Auto Show

     Right from the origin of automobiles we have seen lot of car designs resembling the Nature. Be it animals or birds, all have inspired the designer to come with a new innovative concept of design. Now Mercedes Benz has designed an innovative concept of Interiors which closly resemble the God's best creation - The Life. The interiors named Aesthetics No. 2 Sculpture resemble the spine and vertebra of an animal. After all its the inspiration from the Nature which has brought to this stage!


“At Mercedes-Benz, automobile design is artistic creation. Inspiration is the pre-condition for the calm, coherent yet passionately emotional design of our cars. In the interior sculpture Aesthetics No. 2 we have allowed creative fantasy to develop freely without constraints,” said Gorden Wagener, Mercedes head of design.


“Soft, gentle and infinitely beautiful is her manner of dealing with her resources, creating impressive aesthetics ever anew. We perceive this in every cell structure, every blossom, every living being. However, we do not simply mimic Nature, but learn instead from the intricate, all-encompassing interplay of her elements – this, too, is a hallmark of art," added Wagener

Mercedes Benz R Class launched in India

     German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz has launched R Class in India priced at Rs 58.7 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai.


     The R Class is the latest MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) which got facelifted recently. The design cues have been borrowed from the company’s SUV models which makes it look very neat unlike other MPVs in the segment.

Mercedes Benz low floor buses to hit Indian roads


     To cater to the Indian urban needs Mercedes Benz has decided to launch low floor city buses. A prototype with capacity of 38 person low floor city bus was showcased recently. At present the company has 2-axle and 3-axle inter city luxury coaches in India.

     The company plans to set up a dedicated assembly line that will cater to the production requirements of the city buses. The new body building facility for the city buses will be set up at Pune.

     Mercedes will send prototypes of the city buses to various cities and take feedback from urban commuters. Based on the feedback the company will fine tune the vehicle as per the commuter requirements. This would take about 6 to 9 months before the final batch of buses roll out. We can expect the new Mercedes city buses by early next year.

     The demand for low floor city buses has risen exponentially in India, Thanks to JnNRUM and promotion of public transport system. Mercedes estimates to produce and sell 500 units of these buses per annum.

Mercedes Benz A Class coming to India

     German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz is planning to launch its small hatchback A Class in India in near future. Mercedes Benz has been closely following the Indian market for quiet a long time and since the demand for expensive small hatch in India is remote, A Class could not find its place here earlier. But things has been changing over years in India and Mercedes does think so.



     Rivals, Audi and BMW are also thinking of launching their super mini cars A1 and Mini respectively. Now with the luxury segment getting hot, Mercedes surely want to dominate among its competitors.

     The A Class is expected to be priced between Rs 16 to 20 lakh in India.

Mercedes Benz launches new S class variants – S350L and S350 CDI BlueEfficiency

German luxury car manufacturer Merecedes Benz has launched two new variants of its top end luxury saloon S Class – S350L and S350 CDI BlueEfficiency. The two variants are priced at Rs 82 lakh and Rs 80.5 lakh respectively (ex-showroom New Delhi).


The S350L is powered by a 3498cc petrol engine with max power output of 272bhp at 6300rpm and 345Nm of torque at 4500rpm and can do a top speed of 250kmph. The kreb weight of the car is 1944kg with a permissible gross weight of the vehicle of 2535kg. It has a wheel base of 3165mm and a turning radius of 12.2m.

The S350CDI BlueEfficiency is powered by a 2987 diesel motor with max power output of 210bhp at 4000rpm and 490Nm of Torque at 1600-1800rpm. The S350CDI has almost similar specifications of that of its petrol sibling with wheelbase of 3165mm and 12.2m of turing radius, though the kerb weight of the diesel car is litter higher at 2005kg and permissible gross weight of 2585kg.The diesel S can also do a top speed of 250kmph.
