Tata Magic Iris launched with an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.98 lakh

Tata Motors has launched it micro mini MPV Magic Iris at Jaipur priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.98 lakh (Rs 2.12 lakh on road Jaipur). It will be then by available in various parts of the country. Magic Iris was unveiled at Auto Expo 2010 held at New Delhi, the florescent green Magic Iris did attract huge attention from the crowd.

Magic Iris is powered by a 611cc, single cylinder water cooled BS3 complaint diesel engine producing max power of 11 bhp. It can seat 4 persons apart from the driver. The gear shift operated through cable with 4 forward and 1 reverse gear. The steering is simple mechanical rack & pinion type. 12 inch radial tyres have been neatly incorporated in the 4 corners of the vehicle. It gets a clean metal hard top which is main safety feature.

Magic Iris is expected to work as the low end public transport and may be it might replace the fuel guzzling, smoke-spewing putur…. putur….putur autorikshwas.

Since Magic Iris engine is only BS3 complaint, we guess that is why the vehicle has been launched in Jaipur, where it can be registered. 12 major cities which comply to the BS4 norms will not see Iris as of now.
