Tata Nano gets a French Invitation

Moselle Development Agency of France has invited Tata Motors to invest in Moselle province to manufacture the Nano Europa. Daimler’s Smart city car is also being manufactured at Moselle and Canadian automobile component manufacturer Magna has also set up its unit at Moselle.

According to the Agency, the cost of land there is around 10 Euro per sq meter which is one-tenth of land costs in Germany & Luxembourg. The province is well connected to major centers via road, air and river transportation. The availability of raw materials such as steel and plastics required to build a car is also good. Currently Mercedes A Class, Mercedes Evobus, Opel and Ford Focus are being manufactured in less than 150 km away from the province.
